The felling of Trees over 380mm where it is required to operate chainsaws to fell trees larger than the guide bar length
Designed to teach candidates how to fell trees over 380mm 15" at felling height with a chainsaw of guidebar length below 15" 380mm.
The techniques during this unit are more challenging than the initial felling course as the bar can be completely concealed within the trees stem obscured from the operators view inside the cut profile. These techniques demand precise cuts by the operator to enable the required sequence to be achieved. Once these cuts are completed in the correct manner felling aids are used to fell the tree due to the increased dimension and weight of the specimens required within this unit.
Once felled the operation continues with the chainsaw to systematically and safely breakdown the trees canopy from the stem [ Cut away branches ].
