This course deals with the theory and pratical application that is needed to attain a legally required competence for the commercial application of pesticide and herbicide in liquid form via two options for application leading forward from the first mandatory module.
Pesticides are very widely and successfully used in land-based industries, but they can be potentially harmful substances, therefore it is essential that they are handled, applied and stored correctly. This therefore makes training essential and our Safe Use of Pesticides PA1 attendance course will guide you through the key elements of using pesticides safely, and with confidence.
Who is it for?
Our one day training course is for you if you are employed within the agriculture or horticulture industries, and if you are responsible for the storage, handling and application of pesticides. This course will help you develop your knowledge of health and safety and legislation enabling you to work safely and effectively out in the field.
If you are registered with the NRoSO and/or BASIS (NRoSO = 12 points, BASIS = 12 points).
Due to the use of pesticides, it is important that you are able to read and interpret product information in order to participate in this course.

You will need, to bring your PPE, which consists of the below
Full body Coveralls for use in Pesticides application, these should be at least a type 6 coverall ( lowered numbered suits offer higher protection, so a type 3 or 4 would also be applicable) These must not be the unmarked nuisance type coverall, be aware that they do look very similar, but are not designed for pesticide use, and have none of the "type" numbers relevant to protection.
A pair of ulined nitrile gloves, at least 300mm in length, Wellington Boots & Faceshield,
