IPAF MEWP - Cherry Picker

Course introduction 

The IPAF Operator MEWP course instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of MEWPs.

They generally last one day and involve a blend of theory and practical testing. Successful candidates will receive a PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), a safety guide, a log book and a certificate. The PAL Card is internationally recognised across industries as proof of platform operator training to the highest standard.

PAL cards are valid for 5 years.

Various options are available dependant on clients specification however we do use our own 14.5 meter cherry picker of Ipaf 1b catagory mounted on a 4 x 4 capable Landrover 130 for these chainsaw operations.

Content of the IPAF 1B Cherry Picker course.

  • Be aware of the relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Be aware of accident prevention and control.
  • Be aware of the needs regarding personnel protection.
  • Be aware of the need to refer to the machine Operating Manual.
  • Drive the MEWP safely and manoeuvre the machine as required, to correctly position and carry out the required tasks in a correct and proper manner, inside or outside a building.
